The debut collection of collaborations between label head, Daniel Lippincott, and an illustrious list of talented local musicians in San Francisco's Bay Area. Setting the tone for all four releases in this series, the music is diverse, inspired, and unique. Notable collaborators on this album include Marwan Kanafani, Gabriel Todd, Gavin Hardkiss, and Janis Joplin (RIP). Daniel introduces to the world various musical personas that will ultimately each produce extensive catalogs of their own music on Splintered Tree Records and many other imprints as well. MC Dandelion appears on 'Red Truck, Black Bus' with a spoken word contribution; Drunken Monkey delivers his electronic opus, 'Gratification', as well as a cheeky 2-step remix of Joplin's hippie anthem Mercedes Benz with '2-Step Benzo'; The Sweet Leaf Boys do a loving rendition of the Kanafani pop jewel, 'Crush' and Daniel Lippincott's songwriter moniker, Splintered Tree, takes center stage with 'Sometimes', 'River Ganges', and 'By Birth'.
